We are seeking a motivated Structural Integrity Team Lead to join their innovative and international team.

Our client is at the forefront of designing and developing advanced technology for Molten Salt Reactors (MSR). Their mission is to accelerate the transition to clean energy and contribute to solving the climate crisis. Currently in the development phase, they focus on refining their design through rigorous analysis, experiments, simulations, and strategic partnerships. They emphasize a multidisciplinary approach built on openness, transparency, and collaboration. By fostering values such as unity, communication, and support, they ensure both technological progress and a strong, cohesive team.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for all activities related to structural integrity in the client’s reactor design, safety case, and validation.
  • Leading a growing team of junior, medior, senior, and external mechanical experts, you will ensure their contributions align with projects defined by system design leads.
  • Oversee the quality and validation of work, including any necessary experimental efforts.
  • With a broad, cross-disciplinary perspective, you will prioritize and integrate mechanical analyses across projects, ensuring seamless collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, quality assurance, validation, and engagement with external networks to stay at the forefront of industry developments.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to develop innovative ideas, explore various aspects of mechanical engineering, build and manage an expert team, and play a key role in the company’s success. The position is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, or Lyon, France.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • You have a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a background in structural integrity related technical project execution.
  • You have experience managing an expert team in an innovative and multidisciplinary technology development environment.
  • Experience with System’s engineering approaches are a plus.
  • You have good knowledge of structural and (thermo)mechanical analyses methods, design by rules and quality assurance, which you combine with a practical approach, supporting realization.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear sector is not required, but interest in the energy and nuclear field, and in multidisciplinary complexity and innovation is essential.
  • Experience in projects including pressure vessels, pipings, large components, mechanical handling is a plus.
