What You Will Do

As a Strategic Business Architect at Volvo Group, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our digital transformation. Acting as a bridge between business and IT, you’ll turn strategy into execution by aligning digital initiatives with business goals and unlocking new opportunities. You’ll help us see the “big picture” of how strategy, people, processes, information, and technology fit together — and create roadmaps that guide us from vision to results.

Your Responsibilities

• Assessments & Transformation Planning – Lead the evaluation and assessment of business capabilities and value streams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Identify capability needs, perform gap analyses, and apply capability-based planning practices to prioritize initiatives and investments. Establish standardized criteria to evaluate capabilities across people, process, information, technology, and location. Facilitate stakeholder engagements to compare current vs. future states, uncover capability shortfalls, and define areas of improvement. Act as a liaison between business and IT to align needs with technical strategies, ensuring technology decisions enable the right outcomes. Develop capability and transformation roadmaps that outline phased improvements and guide successful group-wide transformation.
• Translate Strategy into Action – Connect business strategy with digital domains, capabilities, and value streams. Develop actionable, prioritized plans that ensure traceability from vision to execution.
• Enable Transformation – Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and design target states. Create transformation roadmaps that guide phased improvements and ensure investments align with strategic priorities.
• Integrate & Align – Work across functions and digital portfolios, bringing an enterprise perspective that highlights synergies, resolves conflicts, and ensures strategies are applied optimally across Volvo Group.
• Guide Decisions with Insights – Build and maintain business architecture models and blueprints (capabilities, value streams, organizational and information models). Provide clear visualizations and insights to stakeholders for decision support.
• Partner & Influence – Collaborate with leaders, architects, and product teams to assess business impacts, connect business needs to IT solutions, and make sure technology choices drive desired business outcomes.

Who are you?

You are a seasoned business architect or enterprise architect with relevant business architecture experience. You thrive in cross-functional environments, engaging stakeholders at all levels, and can translate complex business needs to align strategy, operations, investments, and delivery efforts with the key capabilities required to achieve desired outcomes.

Required Competencies & Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience working within business architecture domain
• Experience in capturing and formalizing business capabilities and value streams and conducting business impact analysis and capability assessments.
• Experience in applying capability-based planning methods and practices within a large organization.
• Experience in transforming strategic initiatives into executable capability-driven road maps.
• Relevant academic degree with complete fluency in English.
