Maison Margiela is a Paris-based fashion house founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Celebrating unconventional aesthetics and embracing the philosophy that fashion is an art of expression rather than a cult of personality, Maison Margiela offers haute couture, ready-to-wear for women and men, contemporary line MM6, footwear, interior design, and accessories, including leather goods, fine jewelry, and fragrance.

In 2002, the French house became part of OTB. Along with sister brands of the group, Maison Margiela continues pushing the boundaries of modern fashion while preserving its distinctive identity and heritage.

Store Manager Role

As a Store Manager, you will be the brand ambassador, ensuring the store meets and exceeds sales targets while providing an exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and excellent knowledge of luxury retail. Reporting directly to the Head of Retail, your main responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve and surpass sales goals while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Sales Performance: Drive store sales performance by developing and implementing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a superior customer experience through excellent service and a customer-centric approach, building long-term relationships with a high-end clientele.
  • Operational Management: Oversee store operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and compliance with Maison Margiela standards and procedures in collaboration with the Operations Director.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train and coach staff to improve product knowledge, customer service skills, and overall team performance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to make informed business decisions and strategies.
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent and embody Maison Margiela's values and culture both in-store and within the local community.
  • Problem Solving: Address operational issues promptly and effectively, providing solutions as needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of retail management experience, preferably in luxury fashion or luxury products.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and effectively manage a team.
  • Strong sales and customer service experience with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to engage and build relationships with clients and staff.
  • Ability to develop and execute plans to improve store performance and customer experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, refined, and embodying the image and values of Maison Margiela.
