About the job

Under the mentorship of the Stereo Supervisor, the Junior Stereographer collaborates with the compositing and 3D teams. They are responsible for defining and executing the technical and creative aspects of the final stereoscopic output for the film. This role involves close collaboration with the Stereo Supervisor, Layout Supervisor, Compositing Supervisor, CG Supervisor, Production team, and TD department to ensure project success.

• Attend stereo and camera review sessions with the Director, Stereographer Supervisor, and crew. Provide technical and creative guidance on stereography and take detailed notes during reviews.
• Set up stereoscopic cameras in Maya and review stereo playblasts in Nuke for stereo composition.
• Handle Nuke tasks for stereo retakes and mentor compositing artists on stereo techniques.
• Collaborate with the Stereo Supervisor and Compositing Supervisor to prioritize shots, understand the overall goals, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Work with departments like Layout, Animation, Editorial, FX, and Lighting to understand stereoscopic techniques, address technical challenges, and explore opportunities.

Must have

• Experience with 3D software packages used in digital film production, especially Maya.
• Experience with Nuke or equivalent nodal compositing software.
• Python proficiency for Maya and Nuke is a plus.
• Attention to detail, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cinematographic processes and layout related to digital feature films and stereography.
• Experience with large-scale digital film production pipelines.
• Proficiency with tracking software like Shotgrid.

• Fluency in French and English is required.
• Good communication skills, ability to take notes, follow directions.
• Teamwork, task prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
• This position is on-site only (no remote work).
• Preference for EU citizens or those with a French work permit. Foreign candidates considered on a freelance basis.
