Job summary

Betclic Group in Bordeaux invites a Backend Developer Trainee for a 6-month paid internship starting February 2027. You’ll join a squad focused on backend work, AI projects, and cloud infrastructure.

You will collaborate with experienced teams to grow quickly and gain hands-on experience across the tech stack. You’ll participate in design discussions, releases, and monitoring, while enjoying hybrid work, a restaurant ticket, transport subsidy, and a vibrant office in Bordeaux.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree in software development with current studies.
• Initial experience in a Java/Cloud environment (internship or academic project).
• Strong curiosity for development best practices, automation and Cloud technologies.
• Fluent in English and able to work in a multicultural team.

By joining one of our Betclic teams, you’ll become part of a Fullstack team where you’ll enjoy the autonomy to grow by working alongside Backend and Frontend developers, testers, and other complementary skillsets.

As a Backend Developer Trainee, within one of our Squads, you’ll support the squad’s Backend Developers and DataScientist in contributing to our projects, particularly the development of hyper personalization and AI projects.

Work on the setup and monitoring of AWS infrastructure (DevOps).

YOUR ROLE WITHIN BETCLIC

In this role, your main missions will be:

• Taking part in the technical design and performance optimization of the tools developed
• Contributing to production releases and ensuring the smooth operation of the platform
• Helping to improve the code quality of our applications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for passionate and curious professionals who bring kindness and a touch of enthusiasm!

This internship is for you if:

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in software development, you have initial experience (internship or academic project) in a Java/Cloud environment.
• A technical curiosity, demonstrated through the creation of personal projects
• A good understanding of the build chain
• A strong interest in development best practices, automation, and Cloud technologies
• And last but not least, you are fluent in English

WHAT ARE THE RECRUITMENT STEPS?

If your application is selected, Mathilde will contact you within a week for an initial HR screening call (30 minutes).

You will then be invited to complete the AssessFirst test (covering personality, motivations, and cognitive abilities).

Next, you’ll meet with your future manager for a technical and team‑fit interview.

Finally, you’ll have a final HR interview with Maxime, where you’ll also review and discuss your AssessFirst results together.

To ensure a smooth and candidate‑friendly experience, the Betclic recruitment process typically takes between 4 to 6 weeks.
