Air Liquide is a world leader in gases technologies and services for industry and health. Present in 60 countries with 66,300 employees, the Group serves more than 4 million customers and patients. Oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen are small molecules essential to life, matter, and energy. They embody Air Liquide's scientific territory and have been at the heart of the Group's business since its creation in 1902.
Air Liquide's ambition is to be a leader in its industry, to perform well over the long term, and to contribute to a more sustainable world with a strong commitment to climate change and energy transition at the heart of its strategy.
Description of the entity and activity
The Group's Head Office, located at 75 quai d'Orsay, Paris 7th, brings together the main cross-functional activities such as, but not limited to, controlling, compliance, marketing, legal, finance, human resources, shareholder relations, communication, etc.
This unique internship opportunity is located within the Group General Control and Compliance department, more specifically the function of the Group Internal Control. You will therefore have a direct reporting line to the Group Director of Internal Control.
The Internal Control (IC) is a system implemented within the Group (in similarity with other large multinational Corporations) that is aimed to ensure that activities of Air Liquide and the conduct of its collaborators comply with applicable laws, regulations, external and internal standards, and best practices. For example, that the financial data of the organization is fair, accurate, and is timely reconciled; that customers and suppliers undergo specific compliance assessments before being dealt with; or that the organizational matrix does not contain any major segregation of duties conflicts. Additionally, a strong Internal Control system prevents financial frauds and involuntary errors and therefore increases the financial margin of the organization by reducing inefficiencies.
