Description du poste

JOB TITLE

What will be your role?

Created in 2011, the International Development Finance Club (IDFC) is a global network of 27 national and regional development banks committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. IDFC is the largest provider of public development and climate finance worldwide, with over USD 800 billion in annual commitments, including USD 180 billion for climate and USD 18 billion for biodiversity.

The IDFC Secretariat coordinates the strategic direction and roadmap of the Club, leads thematic group activities, supports strategic partnerships, manages institutional communications, and organizes key meetings and administrative functions.

Launched in November 2019 as the operational arm of the Club, the IDFC Climate & Biodiversity Facility supports members in scaling up and improving their climate finance activities. Since 2021, it also addresses biodiversity finance. Its mandate includes four strategic objectives: (i) integrating climate and biodiversity considerations into members’ mandates and operations, (ii) enhancing collaboration among members, (iii) facilitating access to international funding and supporting new project development, and (iv) advocating for the integration and measurement of climate and biodiversity finance.

The Facility is managed by a Coordination Unit (CU) composed of staff seconded from IDFC member institutions and external consultants. This team implements the annual work program and oversees the Facility’s operations and development.

What will your role be?

Under the supervision of the Director of the IDFC Facility, the intern will work closely with the Facility team and the Secretariat on the following tasks:

  • Supporting member engagement: coordinating dialogue and meetings with members to develop shared methodologies and tools related to climate finance, organizing meetings, synthesizing discussions, and drafting key outputs.
  • Drafting and communication: preparing briefing notes, technical memos, presentations, communication materials, and talking points for high-level meetings.
  • Event planning: assisting with the planning and coordination of the Facility’s participation in international events, managing logistics, invitations, and drafting minutes.
  • Knowledge consolidation: collecting and analyzing data on member practices, updating profiles, and contributing to mapping exercises.

Depending on priorities, the intern may also engage in research or mapping on specific climate finance topics.

Duration: 6 months, starting September 2025.
