Job Description:

Mission

The goal of this Masters-2 internship project is to perform experimental validation of a radiation adverse outcome pathway (AOP). Specific tasks include:

  1. Analysis of transcriptional profiles (RNA-seq) of cells exposed to ionizing radiation.
  2. Identify altered cellular pathways and biological functions using RNA-seq data and bioinformatics tools.
  3. Relate results to Key Events (KE) of a radiation AOP to assess KE validity.
  4. Conduct additional experiments to measure parameters such as cell death, cytokine secretion, and functional decline, using assays like immunofluorescence microscopy, ELISA, RT-qPCR, and western blotting.

The results will enhance understanding of ionizing radiation effects on brain function and inform radiological protection for risk assessment. The work will be performed at the Experimental Radiotoxicology and Radiobiology Laboratory (LRTOX) at Fontenay-aux-Roses, supervised by Dmitry KLOKOV.

Applicants should have experience in cell and molecular biology and bioinformatics. Laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy, PCR, and western blotting is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate interest in science, motivation, organizational skills, teamwork ability, and proficiency in English is a plus.
