Palmetto is seeking a strong engineer to build the software and data layer that makes energy cleaner and cheaper for millions of homes. You will develop services, pipelines, and models to estimate how homes use, produce, and pay for energy, and run them as reliable production APIs at scale.

The role spans physics-based and machine-learning energy modeling, geospatial data processing, and AI systems with human-in-the-loop review.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Python for production software, with well-tested APIs.
• Experience across backend and modern frontend stacks and infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience building production LLM systems and agent frameworks.
• Fluency with tools to prompt, eval, and extract data from messy sources at scale.
• Experience with production systems: APIs, data pipelines, SQL, containers, clouds, observability.

Responsabilités

• Build and ship features end-to-end across the stack, including APIs and data pipelines.
• Develop AI-powered capabilities and agent-based data extraction with human-in-the-loop.
• Operate production systems with testing, observability, and reliability at scale.
• Work with geospatial and remote-sensing datasets to inform models.
• Lead design reviews and maintain high standards for quality and observability.
