Job summary

Runware is building a cloud-native platform that lets developers deploy models and run AI workloads without managing GPUs or infrastructure. As a Staff/Senior Software Engineer, you will lead a small team, own the serverless core, and shape the engineering standards for a new product area.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, solving hard platform problems, and delivering a clean, scalable system that enterprises and developers can rely on from idea to production.

Qualifications

• Experience as Staff/Senior Software Engineer or similar.
• Built backend services and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of async processing, queues and retries.
• Comfortable with APIs, control planes, and observability.
• Proficient in backend languages, preferably Go.
• Ability to lead technical direction and own projects.
• Excellent communication and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build core systems for the serverless platform: workload execution, routing, scheduling, isolation and scaling.
• Enable easy model deployment and AI workloads via a simple SDK.
• Design and enhance serverless control plane: APIs, workers, lifecycle, retries and failure handling.
• Collaborate to improve startup time, GPU utilisation, warm-up, caching and placement.
• Develop observability for monitoring, debugging and operating at scale.
• Lead technical design, mentor engineers and set engineering standards.
