Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods, and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to improve process and tolerance control. They serve as the crucial link between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this interface. They support Product Development in optimizing designs and piece parts for manufacturability by creating sample tooling, products, and prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain verification of supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost, and cycle time, and adhere to all relevant specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

What your background should look like :

Tasks :

  • Participate in designing and developing tools and mold processes to support new product development.
  • Support product development through manufacturing optimization, tooling sampling, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with global experts (CoE molding) to continuously update and improve operating standards for plastic injection molding.
  • Incorporate latest technologies and trends in process design to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Provide budgets for new tools and mold processes.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure molds and processes produce high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Coordinate changes and updates on drawings and inform designers accordingly.
  • Train mold and process workshop staff on failure analysis, procedures, and systems.
  • Review incoming projects with the launch team, including documentation and process tracking during plant launch phases.
  • Collaborate on FMEA, projects, and launches to optimize molding processes.
  • Document and activate plastic injection molds in systems such as SAP, Hydra, etc., for production and maintenance.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining PFMEAS with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the development of Control Plans.
  • Engage in the plant's Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Analyze customer specifications.
  • Support capacity analysis for tools and equipment for new parts and volume changes.
  • Assist designers in controlling 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Conduct product and process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains.
  • Support administration, setup, and layout planning in the mold workshop.
  • Design and maintain plastic injection molds.

Profile :

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in CAD design software such as Creo (Pro-E), SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, AutoCAD, CATIA.
  • Proficient in CAE simulation software for plastic filling, such as Moldflow, Autodesk Moldflow, or ANSYS.
  • RJG MM1 certification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of tool manufacturing, tool steel application/selection, heat treatment, and plating/coating.
  • Good understanding of polymer technology, especially engineering-grade resins.
