Job summary

Datadog, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to shape capacity orchestration for its Kubernetes fleet across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. You’ll design scalable systems ensuring compute capacity in the right region at the right time as AI and cloud-native workloads grow.

You will develop production software in Go, influence platform architecture, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve scheduling, deployment, and efficiency at scale in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes-based infrastructure or platform systems.
• Strong programming skills, ideally in Go or similar systems language.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction of capacity management and workload placement for the Kubernetes platform.
• Design and build systems to optimize scheduling and deployment across regions while balancing capacity, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate across infrastructure teams to evolve multi-region and multi-cloud capacity orchestration as Datadog scales.
• Develop production software in Go to improve Kubernetes platform capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Use data and capacity signals to forecast growth and guide infrastructure decisions.
