Job summary

Qonto is seeking a Staff Applied AI Engineer to build production AI systems and agentic workflows within our AI Compliance Tooling team. You will own projects end to end, from discovery to deployment and ongoing improvement, shaping robust backend foundations and measurement for AI behavior.

You will work in a regulated fintech environment, balancing speed and quality while collaborating with AFC stakeholders to deliver practical automation and measurable value.

Qualifications

• Production AI experience with agentic workflows and measurable outputs.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals across APIs, databases, and services.
• Staff-level autonomy: decision-making, trade-offs, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Build production AI systems and agentic tools that integrate with internal systems.
• Own projects end to end from discovery to production and maintenance.
• Design robust backend foundations around evolving AI models and tooling.
• Define evaluation, observability, fallbacks, and human-review processes for AI outputs.
• Deliver measurable operational value by reducing manual work and increasing automation.
• Shape the team's technical direction and raise production capabilities.
