Our Paris office will host our future core R&D team in charge of the development of our flagship product, Construct. Construct is a B2B SaaS construction management and quality control platform designed from the ground up for utility-scale solar projects. By combining GIS, AI/ML, IoT, and mobile technologies, the solution drives major improvements in safety, quality, cost, and schedule for the solar industry. Construct has supported morethan 16+ GW of projects from leading owners and EPCs.

The Role

Terabase’s Sr Manager, Mobile Applications Team is a member of the software product development team, reporting to the Head of Engineering who leads the Paris engineering team. The Mobile Applications engineering team is a team that will be expected to design, build, release, and support features for the mobile apps in the product ecosystem of our flagship SaaS software product Construct.

We are looking for an experienced team leader that is also comfortable being a hands-on developer, with the experience to write high-quality code, lead an engineering team, and help shape the foundational culture of our new office in Paris. Success in this role means you’re a strong technologist, thoughtful leader, and a culture role model.

Our new Senior Manager, Mobile Applications Team will be asked to help build out and lead a team to develop mobile apps in the Construct product ecosystem. This will involve architectural design/review and leadership as well as clear communication and advocating for alignment across multiple internal and external teams. This role will also actively collaborate with other engineering teams located in the United States as well as with our external software development partners centered in Belgrade, Serbia.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the leader of Terabase’s Paris-based Mobile Applications Engineering team and help to grow a high-performing, mission-aligned team in the new Paris office.
  • Work closely with Sr. Director Software in Paris to plan/guide/execute key Terabase Mobile Applications engineering team activities
  • Work closely with other key software/digital team leaders: Director Construction Technologies, Director IoT Technologies, Director Autonomy, Principal Solution Architect
  • Lead a team of initially up to 4 staff direct reports including primarily mobile dev engineers
  • Collaborate with our external software development teams
  • Design, develop, build, test, deploy software to augment existing and create new Terabase software products to ‘digitalize’ the full lifecycle (development, design, construction, and operation) of solar power plants.
  • Communicate with and support users of developed tools & products
  • Champion culture and communication by building bridges between the local team other Terabase teams
  • Develop quality plans and testing approaches for your and the team’s code

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience with architecture, technologies, and approaches relevant to the Mobile Application feature set in Terabase products
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry and/or academic experience/training
  • Design/development/testing experience delivering complex software/digital product solutions into commercial/industrial projects
  • Experience with cloud applications, web stacks, and cloud-based infrastructure/managed services
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as React Native
  • Experience with build systems such as Expo
  • Experience with dev enablement tools such as Sentry
  • Experience with cloud-hosted software environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) – we are primarily an AWS shop
  • Experience with and understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) concepts and techniques
  • Ability to work remotely and to work with distributed teams in various time zones
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
  • Solid programming skills, with exposure to object oriented and functional programming techniques
  • Understanding of and experience in unit testing and test driven development.
  • Solid understanding of agile workflow management process and software product lifecycle
  • Good understanding of ‘gitflow’ source code management development techniques and process

Technologies We Use

  • Cloud-hosted software environments (AWS)
  • Relational (SQL), non-relational (no-SQL), and time-series data optimized (e.g., InfluxDB)
  • The following languages: Python, C++, JavaScript/Node.js and C#. We are not strictly looking for these languages, but a successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to learn and apply knowledge in new domains.
  • IoT architectures, technologies, and applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent academic/industry experience/training
  • Experience with offline data management and data sync/merge systems
  • Experience with maps and mobility components
  • Experience with software product design and software product management
  • Experience with ‘digital twins’ where physical assets and processes are modeled and tracked in software
  • Experience with and understanding of GIS technologies and applications
  • Startup company experience with a focus on building new products and accessing new markets

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher) dependent on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
