Dematic has an immediate need for a Controls Engineer in our Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group. Candidates with exposure to control systems/PLC programming and a passion for automation will be a great fit for this team! Candidates can be based anywhere in the continental USA but must be open to 40% travel to our customer sites in the United States.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will do in This Role:

• Assist in commissioning of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
• Assist in the design of schematics and control panels.
• Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction enhancement.
• Assist in PLC programming.
• Assist in complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for processes and product application in system design.
• Perform standard professional work.
• Apply problem-solving skills.
• Interact with customers.
• Travel no more than 40% to customer sites in the USA.

What We are Looking For:

• BSEE or relevant field of study.
• Internship experience in electrical/controls engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong desire to work in material handling/automation industry.
• Exposure to electrical/hardware design preferred.
• Experience with Rockwell or Siemens PLCs preferred.
• Knowledge of AC drives, both open & closed loop.
• Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety is a plus.
