This position has primary responsibility for interpreting and executing global trade policies and processes for the customs function. You will ensure consistency of customs practices and guidance to operations sites importing across the Strategic Business Unit globally. You will support customs operations and be encouraged to take on leadership roles within the customs function across the SBU (Advanced Structures), Collins Aerospace, and Raytheon Technologies cross-company initiatives. You will analyze data and operations as well as coordinate and track imports/exports in support of the temporary import under bond program.
The ideal candidate will work hybrid to our Chula Vista, CA location though we are open to considering candidates to be based at other US locations or offering a remote option.
What You Will Do:
Support for daily tactical customs processes
Coordinate import and export shipments with key business partners in support of the temporary import under bond (TIB) program
Ensure goods imported under the TIB program meet the requirements of the program and are exported in the required timeframe
Perform customs and import auditing
Support and implement customs related initiatives
Assist Customs Manager and Customs team on projects, tactical activities, strategic activities, training, and other customs activities as needed
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
Experience with US customs, import regulations
Experience with Microsoft 365 Office applications to analyze data
Qualifications We Prefer:
Hybrid work to Chula Vista, CA. Relocation assistance is not supported
2 years customs experience, preferably in the aerospace industry
Experience applying regulations to various import and export business processes and functions
Experience with Importer entry data research and communications with customs brokers
Experience with SAP/GTS or other ERP application
Experience with the US temporary import under bond (TIB) program

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
