Job summary

SpaceLocker is seeking a Mechanical and Thermal Engineer to design and develop space hardware parts from concept to prototyping, ensuring reliability for flight. You will create and maintain 3D models, drawings and BOMs, while balancing function, mass, manufacturability and cost.

You will contribute to mechanical and thermal analyses, support test campaigns like thermal-vacuum and vibration, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve design questions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience designing structural elements for satellites is required, including proficiency with 3D CAD and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with mechanical or thermal simulation and testing; spacecraft AIT experience is a plus. Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts and assemblies from concept to manufacturing-ready definition.
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, BOMs and related design documentation.
• Balance function, mass, manufacturability and cost in design choices.
• Consider mechanical and thermal constraints including launch loads and temperatures.
• Support mechanical/thermal analyses to evaluate designs.
• Contribute to prototype assembly, hardware integration and issue investigation.
• Participate in test campaigns (thermal-vacuum, vibration) and analyze results.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to resolve design questions.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous engineering improvements.
