Position Overview: About The Role
- Lead the Sourcing team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Collaborate with the Director of Procurement Planning and Raw Materials, the Director of Finished Goods Sourcing, and the QA Director to assign projects and tasks inclusively.
- Improve and implement SOPs to ensure the team has the capacity, resources, and empowerment to execute design visions and developments with the right vendors and materials, ensuring profitability and quality.
- Ensure adherence to calendars, including proto reviews and timing to meet Go-to-Market dates for prototypes, sales samples, and bulk delivery.
- Ensure timely, accurate creation and delivery of cost and margin calculations and manuals as per the product calendar.
- Partner cross-functionally with Design, Development, Merchandising, Materials Development, Quality, Compliance, Sustainability, and Product Operations to resolve issues and evolve products from prototype through to factory release.
- Work with Finance to support costing processes and analysis.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select appropriate technologies for new or improved products.
- Oversee key projects, processes, performance reports, data, and analysis.
- Develop and implement methods for monitoring product development and production, reporting status to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, testing, and quality routines.
- Seek guidance and alignment with the VP of Sourcing on issues and resolutions.
- Attend seasonal meetings and exhibitions to support Design, Development, and Materials teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the VP of Sourcing.
Experience, Education, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree focused on Textiles, Apparel, or Business.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Development, Materials, Quality/Testing, and Sourcing within at least two luxury brands.
- Proven leadership in building and managing teams.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments and matrix organizations.
- Experience traveling and working with global stakeholders.
