As a Solution Owner, you are accountable for the product delivery and its architecture, the technical integrity and quality of the solutions delivered. You oversee the tech-related mandates of the squad and work closely with the product owner to influence the product roadmap in line with technical and delivery constraints.
You are the technical warrant of consistency and integration of the solution with the IT landscape. You involve the relevant expertise in the architecture design phase when needed, and you also liaise with other IT departments for tech opportunities and re-use. You are also “hands on” when needed and have a deep understanding of the solution.
You are responsible for the service delivered to Business. In detail, you:
- Understand the business objectives, gather functional requirements, define user experience.
- Describe the IT products roadmap and their integration with the business roadmap.
- Ensure overall quality & efficiency of service delivered, from build to run phases.
You will join the Tech & Data department (more than 200 employees across the globe) and will be able to grow and evolve in a global and very dynamic structure providing products, services, and support to all SCOR Group worldwide.
Your mission and tasks will be:
- Service delivery: Understand business objectives and be able to challenge requirements. In collaboration with the Product Owner, define the Product roadmap, create epics, features, and user stories, and contribute to prioritize the product backlog. Define the solution data architecture, in collaboration with Architecture and Data Chapters. Implement software development good practices (design thinking, test-driven development, automation, etc.) and lead delivery using Agile approaches. Manage service evolutions, for both evolutive and corrective maintenance, and organize support activities, ensuring systems availability and quality of service through clear and structured KPIs. Ensure good coordination of Security / Technical / Compliance teams to manage infrastructure needs. Follow up on client satisfaction.
- Collaboration, information-sharing, and innovation: Work with technical stakeholders to ensure resilient organization, architectural consistency, and smooth integration of the solution into the IT landscape. Gather and suggest improvements in the solution including technical, security, and/or efficiency gains. Provide PO with a strategic roadmap for the technical direction of the solution, helping PO to understand the benefit of suggested technical improvements. Act as a technical advocate, representing the solution across various stakeholders and facilitating communication between teams. Perform an active watch on tech. Contribute to communities to share knowledge and expertise.
- Contribute to ICS: Implement and maintain key processes and controls defined in IT Internal Control Systems (ICS). Support audits in your area and potential certification projects.
Objectives for the first year (or 2 years):
- Successfully deliver the solution on time and in budget, in collaboration with the Product Owner.
- Maintain a high level of quality and performance of the solution.
- Ensure the good alignment of the IT roadmap with Business needs.
Experience & competencies:
- At least 8-10 years in the Data field, including experience in leading and managing the delivery of reporting/analytics systems in an industrialized and controlled environment.
- Experience in both architecture and implementation-level software design.
- Knowledge of the Reinsurance business and/or the financial services industry is a plus.
- Project management skills and strong experience in end-to-end software delivery.
- Strong data architecture skills with good mastery of: data modelization, data integration, data platform capabilities (such as Databricks), and Analytics (Tableau/PowerBI).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage parallel complex streams.
- Business-driven mindset and strong appetite to understand functional context.
- Skilled at defining and documenting business and functional requirements for ongoing system enhancement initiatives in iterative software development environments.
- Able to proactively identify risks, and drive action to mitigate and resolve issues.
- Experience leading all Agile ceremonies including: sprint planning, review, demo, and stand-up sessions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and influence stakeholders.
- Client and service-oriented (understand users’ practices).
- Ability to work in a team and/or be an effective individual contributor.
- Used to working in a cross-cultural environment.
- Fluent English skills (oral & written).
Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related analytical field; or equivalent experience.
