Job Description Summary:
Within our French business development team, you will be responsible for creating development and co-development opportunities for wind and solar projects, as well as the development of projects ready for repowering.
Job Description:
In general, you will:
- Manage the development of projects within budget and timelines, from opportunity identification to Ready to Build status.
- Guide and direct a team of developers towards project goals.
- Lead contract negotiations, while managing multiple stakeholders and various project stages, as well as coordinating multiple support functions.
- Utilize your commercial experience to develop and build these opportunities and/or networks to find and execute JDAs and manage co-development partners.
Additionally, your responsibilities include:- Ensuring liaison and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders (elected representatives, local population, etc.).
- Land negotiations.
- Monitoring and coordinating technical (resources, network, layout, etc.) and environmental (EIA, etc.) assessments.
- Interacting with authorities.
- Preparing, managing, and reporting on budget and timelines to meet project objectives.
- Using your network of potential partners to develop business, launch, and manage co-development agreements.
- Conducting due diligence and assessing project viability.
- Managing projects arising from co-development partnerships and closing new partnerships.
- Evaluating risks and corresponding mitigation strategies as necessary for projects to inform business decisions.
- Gathering market information to stay updated on the latest developments to anticipate market trends.
- Coordinating with internal staff (E&C, P&C, etc.) and external stakeholders to promote and implement Nadara's approach to local community management.
Key Requirements:- Minimum 8 years of experience in solar/wind project development, from site identification to obtaining environmental permits/authorizations.
- Experience in due diligence and pipeline assessment - knowledgeable of local market specifics.
- Experience in JDAs and negotiating co-development agreements until closure.
- Experience negotiating with public stakeholders, landowners, and farmers.
- Knowledge of relevant planning regulations and technologies.
- Understanding of project management, risk, and mitigation measures.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Professional proficiency in English.
