Job Description:

We are looking for a Software (Technical) Support Engineer to join our team in Crolles, France, supporting our PDC tools.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Software System Troubleshooting – Microsoft/Networking/Applications (Analyze reported problems & validate solutions; provide troubleshooting plans to discover root cause; deliver rapid resolution on systemic issues)
  2. Understand, research, and resolve internal and external application and systems issues of moderate difficulty. Independently learn and investigate customer's high-value problems (HVP), systematic bugs, or software failures.
  3. Software Installation & Imaging (Install & configure software & images on ELS / NPI / FIF tools; document & perform first-of-a-kind installs on HVM tools; develop & train on software procedures)
  4. Software Test & Validation (Collect & incorporate customer-specific test scenarios; construct simulators for testing & troubleshooting; execute test plans to validate software releases)
  5. Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for Applied Materials’ product releases.
  6. Participate in product design, testing, and documentation reviews as appropriate. Attend user conferences.
  7. Provide off-hours customer support via pager and cellular telephone as scheduled. Provide telephone coverage as scheduled.
  8. Attend AMAT classes in designated product lines and external classes for third-party software.
  9. Customer Engagement & Training (Foster customer trust in AMAT software; consult on Factory Automation scenarios; resolve questions on tool operations & settings)
  10. Provide ongoing training to customers and customer engineers (CE) for technical products and systems issues.
  11. Assist in analyzing customer OS performance, integration, and database management issues. Deliver updates and reports to managers, partners, and peers.
  12. Assist in training junior engineers in departmental procedures, corporate procedures, and detailed product operation.

Qualifications include a basic understanding and working experience in software test simulation, scripts, requirements, execution, documentation, test cases, and related areas. Additional competencies include service excellence, project management, problem solving, customer relationship development, and communication skills.

Educational requirements: Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Automation Engineering.

Experience: 2-4 years.

Travel: 25%, mainly in Europe, with headquarters in the US.
