Job summary

The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop and deploy a modern database and software infrastructure for the Data Bank’s services, especially the CPS. You will work on secure, maintainable production-grade software for long-term use, deployment, and support, under the Head of the Data Bank.

Ideal candidates have strong Python, Django, FastAPI skills, CI/CD experience, and familiarity with containerisation and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• University degree in mathematics, computer science, science, engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of software development experience.
• Proven CI/CD, version control and containerisation experience.
• Good communication skills across technical fields.
• Knowledge of nuclear engineering, physics or reactor simulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Modernise the CPS workflow and build secure software/database infra.
• Integrate new software into broader NEA IT infrastructure and enable logging/reports.
• Maintain Data Bank digital services and infrastructure with modern best practices.
• Assist with API-enabled frameworks for nuclear data management.
