About the Role As a Software Engineer Intern rounding off your studies, you’ll own core services that power our forecasting platform. You’ll build and maintain high-performance APIs, craft ETL pipelines to ingest and process diverse data sources, and work closely with the teams to deliver end-to-end features. What You’ll Do API Development : Design, implement, and optimize RESTful services using FastAPI and Django Data Modeling & Persistence : Architect and maintain schemas in PostgreSQL , ensuring scalability and data integrity ETL Pipeline Construction : Build robust, automated data ingestion and transformation workflows Collaboration : Partner with data science to supply clean, reliable data feeds; collaborate with frontend on integration points Testing & CI / CD : Write unit and integration tests, contribute to continuous integration pipelines, and enforce best practices Performance Tuning : Profile and optimize database queries and backend endpoints for low latency and high throughput We Expect You To Have Solid experience with PostgreSQL : schema design, indexing, query optimization Proven skills in Python backend frameworks, especially FastAPI and Django Hands-on experience building ETL pipelines (e.g., custom scripts or using orchestration tools) Strong understanding of REST principles and API design Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows Previous experience in using Docker into a production environment Nice to Have Frontend experience with React and Next.js , enabling full-stack collaboration Exposure to AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3) and infrastructure as code Experience using Kubernetes Why Join Metreecs?
