Description du poste

We are Dext, the world’s leading accounting and bookkeeping automation software. Our products give businesses real-time visibility and control over spending, payments, and expenses, enabling accountants and bookkeepers to manage complex financial workflows with ease and efficiency. Trusted by over 1 million SMBs worldwide, our AI and machine learning-driven solutions streamline the accounting process, making it effortless and precise.

With a growing SaaS portfolio across Europe, North America and Australia we’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Paris. This is a unique opportunity to design, build, test, and maintain software applications that meet customer needs and solve real-world problems.

The role - what you’ll do as a Software Engineer:

Our engineering team is primarily based in Bulgaria, but as a global company, we’re accustomed to collaborating across borders. We maintain streamlined processes with organized Kanban boards and efficient daily stand-ups.

Our tech stack features a Ruby on Rails monolith, mobile apps for Android and iOS, and data stored in PostgreSQL. Our frontend is built with React, while Python powers our exciting machine-learning tools. As a data-driven business, we integrate with numerous other accounting software and third-party services to automate data capture and transmission.

The day-to-day:

  • Create clean, maintainable and efficient code;
  • Design features that are robust, scalable, and secure;
  • Develop a full-stack application using Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL;
  • Engage in every stage of the development lifecycle;
  • Adopt best practices, including test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, and coding standards;
  • Encourage the ongoing adoption and integration of exciting new technologies into our design.
We’re seeking a team member with:
  • Strong Communication Skills: You’ll collaborate with international teams in French and English. Proficiency in English is key, as is the ability to gather information and provide clear, actionable feedback, whether in writing, in-person, or remotely.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Our customers’ needs often require more than standard solutions. You'll need a creative and innovative approach to navigate complex systems and deliver high-quality results.
  • Impact-Driven Mindset: You understand how your work influences our customers and your team, keeping a product-oriented perspective.
  • Results-Oriented Approach: You balance speed and quality, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently without compromising excellence.

While we list our ideal requirements below, we hire based on potential, not just experience. At Dext, we value diversity, inclusion, and empowerment—so if you meet most of these, we encourage you to apply:

  • Strong back-end and front-end development skills;
  • Experience with version control tools;
  • A commitment to clean, optimized, well-refined code;
  • A continuous desire to learn and solve complex challenges;
  • Fluency in both French and English;
  • A team player eager to make a positive impact.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

What you’ll be part of - our values, culture, and behaviours:

We are a fast-paced, ambitious FinTech organization backed by Private Equity (HgCapital). Despite our scale, we maintain the agility of a start-up. Our values guide everything we do:

Be Brave – Everyone has a voice and the opportunity to challenge the status quo.

Be Exceptional – We strive for excellence in everything we do.

Be Together – We succeed as a team, and individual success is inseparable from team success.

What we will give you - the perks:
  • Classic but essential perks (Swile meal vouchers of €10 per day, 100% coverage of Alan health insurance by Dext);
  • A partnership with ClassPass (partially covered by Dext);
  • A positive work environment with informal gatherings to build connections in our fantastic office in the heart of Paris (afterwork drinks, company parties, seminars, etc.);
  • A company-wide focus on skills development with unlimited access to online training through LinkedIn Learning;
  • 1 additional day off during the week of your birthday;
  • 2 days off for team-based charitable activities (Volunteering days);
  • The opportunity to enjoy 'Summer Hours' (1 to 3 hours of reduced working time per week during July and August to make the most of the summer!).
