Biomemory, founded in 2021, stands at the forefront of biotechnology and computing, driven by a passion for sustainability. We are pioneers in DNA data storage, addressing the costs, space, and environmental impact of traditional data centers. Our approach leverages synthetic biology, automation, and parallelization to create data storage solutions using DNA strands as the storage medium, stored as polymers that require no energy.

After securing a €17M Series A in early 2025, we are entering a high-growth phase, aiming to more than double our team from 22 to 50 by the end of 2025.

As a Software Engineer, your main goal will be to develop, optimize, and maintain software solutions that facilitate the innovative use of DNA as a data storage medium. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including biology specialists, and active participation in laboratory workflows to ensure smooth integration between software and experimental processes.

The role requires:

  • Technical expertise,

  • Adaptability to advance cutting-edge DNA-based storage systems.

The position is based in Paris and requires onsite presence to ensure effective communication and collaboration with biological and software teams.

You are an experienced professional who enjoys understanding how computer systems work, from software algorithms to hardware components. You love building and pushing your knowledge boundaries.

The location & benefits

This onsite role is based at our Paris office, which combines modern offices with advanced laboratories to foster collaboration between computer scientists and biologists. In late 2025, we will move to a new headquarters in central Paris near Sorbonne University, offering an inspiring environment for innovation.

The role adheres to French law on fixed-hour contracts ('forfait heures') with a 39-hour workweek, providing flexibility. We offer additional benefits to support employee well-being, details of which will be shared after the first interview.

Recruitment process

We aim to complete the process within a month, involving several interviews and skill assessments:

  • Introductory interview with Talent Acquisition (30’)
  • Interview with your potential manager
  • Case study with team members (90’)
  • Culture fit interview onsite (45’), followed by a final with our CEO (30’)
