Swan is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Banking Experience team. You will work on backend systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and secure, resilient services in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with product teams to design API-driven banking solutions, implement robust tests, and contribute to the overall architecture. English proficiency and a passion for clean, maintainable code are valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Software Developer with back-end focus and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with back-end optimization, observability and SQL queries.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, automated testing, and distributed systems/microservices.
• Fluent in English; interest in open source or functional programming.

Swan is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Banking Experience team.

The Engineering team is by far the largest at Swan (70+ people). This team includes Software developers, who build payments and end-customer applications, as well as Infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and Security.

Your mission

• You will be technically responsible for one or more projects.
• You will have the opportunity to solve problems in one of the most demanding IT domains with a reactive architecture.
• You will design with the product team the bank by API.
• You will improve the performance of a system with a rapidly growing load.
• You will ensure the respect of the architecture rules and of the automated tests

Salary Range

this position is classified from Confirmed to Early Senior in our Software Engineer grid. The salary range reflects our internal compensation structure and is based on market benchmarks for similar roles across Europe. For this position, we offer a salary between 53.000€ and 70.000€ (gross annual), depending on your experience and expertise level determined during our technical interviews.

You’re a great match if:

• Experience: at least 3 years as a Software Developer with a strong grasp of back-end systems and proficiency in TypeScript.
• Backend Engineering: good mastery of common back-end optimization topics (performance improvements, observability, SQL database queries, and query optimizations).
• DevOps & Architecture: hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and exposure to distributed systems or micro-service architectures.
• Continuous Learning: you regularly follow technological improvements to keep abreast of the latest developments (newsletters, conferences, meetups).
• Mindset: fluent in English, passionate about functional programming or open source, and you leave your ego at the door.
• Bonus points / If you are ready to bring Senior ownership:Product & Project Leadership: you have a proven track record of driving impactful projects from A to Z alongside Product teams, and you have the communication skills to confidently argue and advocate for your technical choices.
• Architecture & Scale: you are used to dealing with high-complexity systems, naturally designing code with long-term scalability, clean architecture, and maintainability in mind.
