Swan is seeking a Confirmed Software Engineer to join its large tech team for a multi-month project in a fast-growing payments environment. You will own one or more backend initiatives and work on solving complex problems within a reactive architecture.

You will collaborate with the product team to design the bank-by-API, improve performance under increasing load, and ensure architecture and automated tests are followed. This role is based in Paris with a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Software Developer with strong backend experience.
• Experience with performance improvements, observability, SQL queries and SQL optimisations.
• Fluent in English.

Job description

Swan is looking for a Confirmed Software Engineer to join its tech team of 70+ people for a specific project over a few months.

The Engineering team is by far the largest at Swan. This team includes Software developers, who build payments and end-customer applications, as well as Infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and Security.

Your mission

• You will be technically responsible for one or more projects.

Salary Transparency Statement
In compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive (effective as of 2026), Swan is committed to fair and transparent compensation.

Salary Range: this position is classified as confirmed in our Software engineer grid. The salary range reflects our internal compensation structure and is based on market benchmarks for similar roles across Europe. For this position we offer a salary between 53.000€ and 63.000€.

Annual reviews: we conduct structured salary reviews each February, considering performance, professional growth, and market positioning.

Preferred experience

You’re a great match if:

• Experience: from 3 years as a Software Developer with a strong grasp of back-end systems
• You have mastery of common back-end improvement topics (performance improvements, observability, database queries (SQL) and SQL optimizations)
• Technical Skills: Proficient in TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with automated testing & CI/CD
• Experience in distributed systems or micro-service architecture
• You regularly follow technological improvements to keep abreast of the latest developments in your technological ecosystem
• Passionate about functional programming & open source
• Fluent in English
