Jobtailor is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop lidar processing algorithms and control functions on Linux/Yocto. You will work on embedded systems using C++ and Rust, and contribute to the product’s web interface with JavaScript, while maintaining, testing, and validating the hardware integration.

Qualifications

Master’s-level engineering degree in embedded computing, embedded systems, electronics, or related field.
Proven experience in embedded or industrial software development.
C++ and Rust proficiency essential.
JavaScript or web interface development experience.
Linux environment and Yocto knowledge.
Experience with Git/GitHub and CI tools (Jenkins).

Responsabilités

Develop algorithms for processing lidar measurements, including filters and signal processing.
Create control functions for machine operation, including initiation, positioning, temperature monitoring and safety-trigger activation.
Develop embedded software in C++ and Rust on Linux/Yocto.
Contribute to the product web interface using JavaScript or equivalent.
Perform maintenance, bug fixes, and implement new features.
Conduct unit and integration tests; validate with hardware.

Description du poste

Develop algorithms for processing measurements from lidar systems, including filters, scientific calculations, and signal processing
Develop control and command functions for operating the machine, including measurement initiation, equipment positioning, temperature monitoring, status verification, and safety-trigger activation
Design and develop embedded software in C++ and Rust on Linux/Yocto
Contribute to the development of the product’s web interface using JavaScript or an equivalent technology
Provide corrective and evolutionary maintenance
Fix bugs and address issues identified during testing
Develop new features
Perform unit and integration testing
Work directly with physical hardware during validation phases
Use Visual Studio Code, GitHub, and Jenkins (CI/CD)

Requirements

Master’s-level engineering degree (Bac+5) in embedded computing, embedded systems, electronics, or a related field
Proven experience in embedded or industrial software development
C++: essential proficiency
Rust: essential proficiency
JavaScript or an equivalent technology for web interface development
Linux environment and knowledge of Yocto
Experience with Git/GitHub and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
Familiarity with signal processing, scientific computing, and electronics/instrumentation concepts is a plus
Scientific rigor and strong analytical skills
Interest in working directly with physical hardware
Autonomy and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
Technical curiosity and a desire to understand the system end to end
