The Informatics team owns the security telemetry mission in AWS. We collect, enrich and vend massive volumes of security related data from millions of hosts across globally distributed regions.

As a Security Software Development Engineer on the Informatics team, you will develop software that collects, enriches and vends Linux security telemetry data. The solutions you deliver are foundational in supporting the security and audit missions of AWS teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Scale and Impact – Our team builds solutions that enable AWS service teams to leverage security related data to protect against threats. You will develop simple solutions to complex problems in collecting, enriching, and vending massive volumes of security data. Your solutions will be high-performing, scalable, and meet AWS availability expectations. You will optimize storage and compute, champion automation, and address complex security challenges.
• Growth – Take end-to-end ownership of scoping, design, development, testing, and deployment of features globally. We value strong intuition, data-driven insights, and customer-centricity.
• Collaboration – Work with a talented, diverse team of engineers passionate about data and security. Share knowledge through documentation, design reviews, code reviews, and pairing.

A day in the life

Build and own software related to Linux security telemetry data collection, enrichment, and vending. Collaborate with world-class developers to create scalable security solutions. Use AWS technologies to build, validate, and support CI/CD pipelines with Go, Python, and TypeScript.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (reliability, scaling)
• Experience programming in at least one language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Kernel expertise in Windows / UNIX / LINUX
