We are seeking a highly qualified Software Developer / Data Engineer with a strong background in software development, Python, and ETL systems to support advanced data engineering efforts for a mission-critical federal program. This senior-level position requires hands-on experience integrating modern technology stacks and designing scalable, modular data solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify and validate requirements for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) systems in support of secure data processing pipelines.
- Design and develop robust, maintainable software using Python and modern software engineering best practices.
- Evaluate, integrate, and deploy new technology stacks into existing software systems to meet evolving technical and mission requirements.
- Build and support modular system architectures capable of handling distributed data flows and transformation.
- Collaborate with data scientists, security engineers, and system integrators in Agile development teams to ensure secure and performant data operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development or data engineering.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining software systems using Python.
- Proven experience in identifying and validating requirements for ETL processes and workflows.
- Experience integrating new technologies into existing environments and adapting architectures to meet program needs.
- Must be available to work full-time on-site in Chantilly, VA during standard business hours.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with data flow and stream processing tools such as NiFi, Kafka, and Logstash.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data manipulation and extraction.
- Experience designing and implementing modular, component-based system architectures.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practical understanding of the cyber domain.
- Exposure to secure, high-throughput data environments supporting federal missions.

- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance is required for this role.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific budget considerations.
