A leading care organization is seeking a Social Care Worker in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to support adults with autism. The role requires a QQI level 7 qualification in Social Care and at least 6 months of relevant experience. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting individuals in their community. Qualifications

Essential criteria for the position of Social Care Worker:

  • A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential
  • Eligible to register with CORU as a Social Care Worker
  • At least one year’s recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
  • Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
  • Full drivers licence (manual) esential
  • Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications required for a Social Care Worker:

  • A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; OR
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work/Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; AND
  • Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
  • OR proof of application in progress with CORU.

Skills/Abilities required of a Social Care Worker:

  • Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
  • Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s
  • Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
  • Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills
