Come build the future with us in the exciting PC industry. Amazon is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to support WW expansion of the Smart Retail project to new regions in collaboration with external partners.
The Smart Retail project aims to automate manual tasks for non-playbook categories by creating backend models and interfaces for internal and vendor-facing use, facilitating vendor relationships.
Smart Retail has attracted interest from external partners for development, and Intel has been selected to support this initiative until the end of 2026. The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) will be responsible for automating forecasting, buying, and inventory management capabilities within Smart Retail interfaces, impacting PC category management worldwide. This role requires strategic thinking, coding skills, innovation, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to maximize results.
The BIE will collaborate with Smart Retail WW PMs, development (INTech), and customer teams. Responsibilities include participating in alliance partner taskforces with C-Level executives, developing backend capabilities with WW Alliance Partners (such as Intel, AMD, Windows) to position Amazon as the preferred partner for laptop category operations, and driving adoption among retail vendors and alliance partners by refining mechanisms and queries to foster growth and automation, and to respond to industry trends.
The ideal candidate is innovative, has a strong technical background, project management skills, analytical ability, excellent business judgment, curiosity, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience and category management tools. They should be willing to challenge the status quo to improve workflows and processes, work effectively with internal and external partners, and possess excellent communication and influencing skills.
Candidates should have deep experience in SQL, Python, Quicksight, AWS tools, and PC category understanding, with a proven track record of data-driven decision-making. This position is based in Amazon France Retail in Paris (CDG10), but other EU locations may be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related fields, experience with SQL and BI tools, proficiency in AWS QuickSight or similar, strong SQL skills with Amazon Redshift or relational databases, and experience translating business requirements into technical solutions. A Master's degree and experience with Python, retail forecasting, and inventory systems are preferred.
Experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Athena is desirable. Candidates should possess strong business acumen and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
