SBM Offshore is seeking a Site HSSE Advisor to oversee health, safety, and environmental practices at assigned construction sites in France. You will drive adherence to standards, train teams, and promote a strong safety culture across locations.

The role requires 5+ years in HSSE within Oil & Gas, offshore experience, and capability to lead investigations, audits, and risk assessments. Bachelor-level engineering or science degree with HSSE qualifications is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with HSSE and Fire Safety qualifications.
  • Certification in PTW, Rigging and Lifting, Scaffolding is preferred.
  • 5+ years in Health, Safety, Security and Environment in Oil & Gas, offshore experience is essential.

Responsabilités

  • Participate in accident/incident investigations related to PTW, Rigging and Lifting, Scaffolding.
  • Analyze incident statistics; identify trends and propose improvements.
  • Provide technical safety support to Senior Management.
  • Conduct in-house safety training on subject matter expertise.
  • Perform safety audits on Sub-contractors.
  • Join HAZID meetings before installation and construction activities.
  • Perform Risk Assessments and prepare safety documentation for tenders.
  • Support plans and procedures during contract start-up activities.

Description du poste

  • As Site HSSE Advisor, for your assigned locations, you are responsible for ensuring that employees, contractors and SBM visitors, at Construction sites work in a safe, secure and environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all standards, rules and other requirements imposed by Company, Regulators, Clients and other relevant Stakeholders.
  • You actively drive the effective implementation of your discipline’s standards and Training methods, applicable on construction sites. You play a key role in promoting and embedding strong leadership, positive behavior and culture across your assigned locations.
Responsibilities
  • You take part in accident/incident investigations pertaining to subject matter expertise (PTW, Rigging and Lifting, Scaffolding).
  • You carry out analysis of accident/incident statistics, identify trends, and suggest improvement plans.
  • You provide technical support to Senior Management on any safety-related subjects.
  • You conduct in-house safety training pertaining to subject matter expertise (PTW, Rigging and Lifting, Scaffolding).
  • You perform safety audits on Sub-contractors pertaining to subject matter expertise (PTW, Rigging and Lifting, Scaffolding).
  • You participate in HAZID meetings prior to installation and construction activities.
  • You perform Risk Assessments.
  • You prepare Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
  • You provide Safety support and advice, including supervision in the preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities.
Education
  • Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
  • Certification in subject matter expertise (Permit to Work, Rigging and Lifting, Scaffolding)
Experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in Health, Safety ,Security and Environment and Fire Services in the Oil and Gas industry of which 5 years in the Offshore Hook Up and Commissioning sector.
  • Previous HSSE experience in Construction site Leadership.
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using Tripod Beta Tool, HSE Auditing Techniques, HEMP, Radiological Safety.
  • Industrial Hygiene, and Gas Dispersion, Modelling, Explosion Indices and ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
