Helsing is seeking an experienced engineer to build and maintain simulation environments for large satellite constellations, enabling mission analysis with hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing. You will model physics, validate against flight data, and produce actionable design recommendations.

You should have hands-on experience delivering SIL/HIL systems, strong modelling judgement, and a track record in production-grade software within a large shared codebase.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
• Strong physics and modelling judgement and ability to defend simplifications.
• Experience in production-grade software in a large shared codebase with CI and testing.
• Ability to architect an environment that serves fast batch runs and full-fidelity validation.
• Ability to communicate results and limits to non-specialists and work with partners.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain simulation environments behind large constellation mission analysis.
• Build hardware-in-the-loop rigs with real hardware in the loop and software-in-the-loop environments wired into automated pipelines.
• Model orbital dynamics, sensors, actuators, thermal behaviour, and RF links at appropriate fidelity and validate with test data.
• Translate simulation results into trade studies, requirements evidence, and design recommendations.
• Collaborate with partners and suppliers to integrate models and hardware and resolve discrepancies.
