Job summary

MSC Cruises seeks a Head of Shipbuilding to organize and manage vessels under construction, ensuring contractual obligations, quality standards and operational requirements are met on site. You will lead the technical team, supervise construction activities, and provide strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

You will coordinate across disciplines, manage risk and delivery schedules, and liaise with Shipyard and Clients to resolve issues and finalize vessel handover.

Qualifications

• Degree in Naval Architecture or another engineering discipline with a technical focus related to shipbuilding.
• Proven leadership experience in large-scale shipyard construction activities and project management.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Italian and/or French is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire ship construction process from steel cut to delivery, ensuring contractual and technical compliance.
• Lead Site Office supervisors and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across construction activities.
• Manage risk, change orders, and delivery documentation in adherence to project objectives.
• Coordinate with Shipyard, clients, and suppliers to close corrective actions and ensure quality standards.
• Support plan approvals, FAT/HAT/SAT activities, and final handover processes.
• Maintain professional relationships with Shipyard, suppliers, and Classification Societies.
