POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is located at Verge Condos in Queensway, Etobicoke. The skilled Service Technician will perform various general maintenance tasks including repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for rectifying in-suite and common area deficiencies and ensuring homeowner satisfaction. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), Quality Assurance (QA) and walk-through assessments of suites and common areas;
  • Perform various maintenance functions including but not limited to painting, caulking, HVAC repairs, lock repairs, window/door repairs, electrical repairs, appliance repairs, preventative maintenance, changing light bulbs, filters, batteries, etc.;
  • Be able to move, and lift up to 75lbs, i.e. heavy furniture, appliances, and equipment;
  • Able to sit, stand, kneel, lift, and climb ladders;
  • Assist trades with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repair work;
  • Follow workplace health and safety rules;
  • Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles as needed;
  • Address homeowner requests and handle complaints professionally. Treat all residents with courtesy; respond to resident requests in a timely manner; document requests and report to immediate supervisor;
  • Manage job details, review daily tasks, and follow up with customers and internal Customer Care team;
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC knowledge;
  • Basic carpentry, including finding studs, building and installing furniture (e.g. bookshelves, and installing cabinets);
  • Understand the importance of brand standards and have a mindset to exceed expectations;
  • Maintain communication with all RioCan Living Team members and Customer Care Management regarding the completion of daily services and any additional assistance required to carry out duties and responsibilities;
  • Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent;
  • 2+ years of maintenance, construction, or related experience;
  • Working at heights training;
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools;
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude, and strong work ethic;
  • Can reliably work alone and as part of a team;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Friendly with good interpersonal skills;
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel and/or commute to the sites.
