  • Job Summary:**

The Rooftop server assistant’s main responsibility is to assist servers, bartenders, and other members of the staff with the execution of service in the restaurant. If you have a good work ethic, a positive attitude, drive, and a willingness to take initiative, this is the job for you!

  • Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
  • Observe tables and take note of dirty, clean, and occupied tables.
  • Ensure that the rooftop area is both maintained and cleaned, both upstairs and downstairs.
  • Assist the servers by refilling beverages and water and running food to the tables.
  • Assist servers in resetting and bussing tables.
  • Assist with restocking of ice, cups, condiments, to go items
  • Maintain a composed, professional and calm attitude at all times.
  • Complete all side-work as directed.
  • Assist in an entire team effort.

Note that this is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the Rooftop General Manager or other managers.

  • Job Requirements**

Education & Experience

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 1 year of food and beverage experience is preferred but not required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Ability to work under pressure, be calm, organized, self-motivated, and work well with others.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English in order to follow directions, and procedures, and communicate with the team (using a translator app if necessary).
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.

  • Serving tray, Bus tubs, Dishwasher, handcart/dolly.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear for a long period of time; frequently required to use hands to handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard POS computer. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds; push and pull equipment, supplies, etc., at least 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and sometimes stressful work environment.

Work Environment

  • High guest interaction, involving varying conditions and circumstances with guests, team members, and managers.
  • Fast-paced; high volume; team-oriented.
  • Outside with some covered areas in variable and changing weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain.

Hourly Pay

  • $10.00 per hour. Overtime will be paid at time and a half for any hours over 40 in a week.
  • Plus Generous Tips for average hourly wage of $15-18 per hour.
