The Camera Hardware team is responsible for research, design, development, testing, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. As a key member of the Camera Semiconductor Technologies team, you will collaborate with suppliers to design and bring up new sensing devices to improve performance and yields. You will work with operations engineering on yield issues and with suppliers on process development to enable next-generation sensing technologies.

Description

As a Sensor Process Engineer, owning the semiconductor processes and specifications, you will:

  1. Collaborate with global sensor suppliers to evaluate manufacturing capabilities and create an Apple-specific roadmap.
  2. Work with design teams to ensure the process roadmap meets our needs.
  3. Partner with suppliers on new product development, performance and yield improvements, reliability qualification, and fab qualification.
  4. Coordinate with internal and external teams to implement new process technologies.
  5. Ensure testing at all stages to guarantee sensor performance.
  6. Maintain awareness of process nodes and PDKs used on sensors and uphold the sensor process roadmap.

Qualifications:

  • Industry experience with modern 300mm silicon semiconductor process technology.
  • Strong understanding of device physics, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in developing sensor specifications and working with new sensor development.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards.
  • Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design and manufacturing experience with optoelectronic devices.
  • Assembly process experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with process monitoring tools to evaluate manufacturing performance statistically.
  • Ability to define simulations and collaborate with physicists on realistic modeling of new ideas.
  • Strong teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Successful track record with designs fabricated in advanced foundries or captive fabs.
