Coats in Lavergne, France seeks a Senior Welding Supervisor to lead both manual and robotic welding operations across the facility. You will manage welders, fabricators, and robotic operators, drive safety and quality, and balance hands-on leadership with technical oversight of automated welding cells.

The role requires deep welding process knowledge, experience in robotic welding systems, and a track record of continuous improvement, training, and performance management in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive welding experience, including manual and robotic welding.
• 3+ years in a supervisory/lead role in manufacturing or fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, and/or FCAW welding.
• Experience with robotic welding cells and multiple brands.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with welding safety standards and fume/ventilation requirements.
• AWS certification and/or WPS/PQR experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate welding operations across manual and automated work centers.
• Supervise welders, fabricators, and robotic weld cell operators; set production priorities.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and support hiring/training of welding personnel.
• Act as escalation point for welding-related production issues and downtime.
• Oversee manual welding (MIG/TIG/SMAW/FCAW) and ensure WPS compliance and quality.
• Supervise robotic welding cells; troubleshoot faults and program deviations.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration for welding equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and cycle time.
• Maintain documentation on WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, and downtime.
