Coats is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead design, programming, and integration of automation across the facility. You will work with welding, laser/plasma, CNC equipment, and robotics, driving safety, uptime, and throughput.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial controls, hands-on PLC programming across major platforms, and knowledge of electrical schematics and safety standards. On-site work with a collaborative team is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in industrial controls engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on programming with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Experience integrating and programming industrial robots in production.
• Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, drives, sensors, and networking.
• Working knowledge of safety standards (ISO 10218/TS 15066) and related safety practices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs; strong troubleshooting on the plant floor.

Responsabilités

• Design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and robot control systems for equipment.
• Lead integration of industrial and cobots into manufacturing cells with safety zoning.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain controls for welding, cutting, CNC, and assembly stations.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, control documentation, and backups.
• Provide technical mentorship to maintenance technicians and junior engineers.
