Overview

Senior Vice President, Corporate Credit Underwriting & In-Business Risk, Energy

The Company is a renowned commercial investment banking firm with international reach operating in financial services as a public company (founded 1812; 10,001+ employees).

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of junior Energy Underwriters and oversee all underwriting activities within a large and complex portfolio.
• Contribute to the company\'s business control and governance framework with a focus on integrated credit underwriting, risk identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk.
• Adopt leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring; ensure the accuracy and completeness of credit approval packages.
• Maintain key client relationships, coordinate projects, and support strategic initiatives within the underwriting team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of risk-related credit work experience in banking or financial institutions; preference for experience in the energy sector.
• Ability to manage a team, provide first-line-of-defense credit approval, and mentor junior team members.
• Strong background in financial analysis, stress testing, and understanding complex financing and product structures.
• Proven track record of engaging with regulators, internal control functions, and external audits; demonstrate strong ethics, integrity, and decision-making under pressure.
• Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience; excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
