EP2C Energy is seeking a Senior Subsea Package EPC Contract Engineer for a vital role in contract engineering and administration. This position involves managing complex contractual matters for offshore projects with responsibilities ranging from tendering to claims management. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in claims management, excellent bilingual communication skills, and a solid work ethic to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.

We are looking for "SENIOR SUBSEA PACKAGE EPC CONTRACT ENGINEER (M / F)" for one of our clients, to be based in Ile-de-France (France) for a 6-month contract (possibility of renewal).

SENIOR SUBSEA PACKAGE EPC CONTRACT ENGINEER (M / F)". What will your responsibilities and missions be?

The role encompasses global responsibilities in Contract Engineering and Administration , as well as Claims Management —covering both contractor and company claims and disputes. Activities are detailed as follows :

1. Senior Contract Engineer – SPS and / or SURF Packages (Offshore Projects)

  • Support all contract and procurement activities required for designated capital projects
  • Advise on and manage contractual documentation, particularly for complex tendering formats such as CCFT, OBE / OBT, and FEED+
  • Prepare complete CFT packages, including commercial structure and contract terms
  • Launch calls for tender (CFTs), oversee contractor qualification processes, and lead exception reviews and negotiations
  • Assess commercial aspects of bids and provide award recommendations
  • Promote claim prevention through robust contract management from tendering through early project execution
  • Assist project teams in securing internal approvals and navigating decision-making gates

2. Senior Contract Engineering Referent for Selected Projects

  • Define and coordinate contract management methodologies and tools for the entity (e.g., Contract Toolbox, competency and expertise frameworks, evaluation tools)
  • Coach and mentor contract engineers (guidance, training, and day-to-day support)
  • Ensure compliance with governance processes throughout the contracting lifecycle
  • Represent the entity during project reviews on all contractual matters

3. Coordination

  • Actively participate in legal coordination activities related to ongoing projects
  • Ensure alignment and consistency between legal guidance and project operational needs

4. Project SPOC (Single Point of Contact)

  • Act as the designated SPOC for certain projects providing centralized contractual coordination and oversight

5. Claims and Counterclaims Management

  • Analyze and review existing contracts and claims; support project teams during contract execution and closeout phases
  • Provide strategic advice on real-time claim management
  • Investigate and assess the validity and merits of major claims or disputes
  • Contribute to the development and resolution of claim dossiers, offering high-level recommendations
  • Assist in drafting formal communications and notices to contractors

6. Continuous Improvement and REX (Return of Experience)

  • Contribute to the consolidation of contractual REX / Lessons Learned
  • At project launch, review existing REX data; upon project completion, prepare a summary of key learnings to be shared and archived for future reference

What profile and skills are Required for this "SENIOR SUBSEA PACKAGE EPC CONTRACT ENGINEER (M / F)" Position?

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex environments and manage demanding stakeholders
  • Strong expertise in claims management, including dispute resolution
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and networking capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work transversally across functions and influence without direct authority
  • Skilled in information sharing and lessons learned consolidation, with clear and effective communication
  • Solid experience in contract lifecycle management, including preparation, tendering (CFT), negotiation, and administration
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
  • Good understanding of project life cycle phases, with hands-on experience as a package contract engineer
  • Capacity to manage a high workload in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment
  • Experience with subsea packages (SPS, SURF) in offshore projects is a strong asset
