Alma is seeking a Senior Strategic Finance professional to own end-to-end P&L analysis and partner with commercial, product and operations teams. You will drive pricing for merchants, influence strategic decisions, and lead AI-enabled finance workflows.

Based in Paris with hybrid work, you will report to the Head of Strategic Finance and contribute to scaling Alma across Europe.

Qualifications

• 6–7 years in strategic finance, FP&A, transaction services or related analytics.
• Strong financial modelling and pricing skills; build top-line plans from data.
• High interest in AI and ability to implement AI-assisted workflows.
• Autonomous, business-oriented; able to influence stakeholders; English work language; French for daily use.

About the team

Strategic Finance sits within Alma’s Finance function and reports to the CFO. The team owns pieces of Alma’s P&L end-to-end (top line, unit economics, pricing and the business plan), from the model all the way to the Board deliverables.

This is a newly created position, opened as we structure Strategic Finance around strategic nodes for 2027. You will report to the Head of Strategic Finance and have no direct reports.

The role is deliberately versatile. Your first perimeter will most likely be New Business & Growth (new merchant acquisition in France including Enterprise, the Consumer business, and our two youngest markets, DACH and Iberia), but scopes are assigned by profile and rotate over time, so what matters most is your ability to own any part of Strategic Finance as the team and the business grow.

This position is a permanent contract (CDI), based at our Paris HQ (Saint-Ouen), hybrid.

About the job

• Own a piece of Alma’s P&L end-to-end. Take a scope from the business plan through to the recurring analysis and the Board deliverables (top line, unit economics and contribution margin), keeping the models clean and reliable.
• Drive pricing. Run pricing for new and existing merchants, own the floor margins, and support high-stakes deals and RFPs with a clear recommendation.
• Partner with the business and inform decisions. Be the finance counterpart of the commercial, product and operations teams, produce the top-line and P&L notes, country reviews and Board slides, and challenge the business with a point of view rather than just reporting the numbers.
• Push AI into how the team produces. Prototype and industrialise AI-assisted workflows to automate recurring notes, COGS and business-plan builds, and pricing analysis. We want someone who raises the bar on how the team works, not only on what it delivers.

You will work with

Google Sheets and Excel, SQL (largely AI-assisted at Alma), Notion, Slack, and AI assistants / LLMs.

About you

To succeed in this job

• Around 6 to 7 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, transaction services, consulting or a comparable analytical role, ideally in a fast-paced or scale-up environment.
• Strong financial modelling and pricing skills: you can build a top-line business plan from raw data, and you have a sharp data sense and learn new tools fast (querying is largely AI-assisted here, so data judgement matters more than deep SQL).
• A strong appetite for AI and the ability to learn it fast: at minimum a genuine drive to bring AI into how we work, ideally a track record of building and industrialising AI-assisted workflows.
• Versatile, autonomous and business-oriented, able to influence stakeholders and take end-to-end ownership of a scope. Work happens in English; you need French sufficient for day-to-day interactions with colleagues (native French is not required).

And it will be nice if you also

• Hold a Master’s degree in Finance, Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
• Bring exposure to fintech, payments or BNPL.
• Speak a third language beyond French and English, a real plus given Alma’s European growth.
