Job Description:

Microcontrollers & Digital ICs Group (MDG) contributes to many of ST’s strategic goals for Industrial, Personal Electronics and Communications Equipment. MDG represents about one third of ST’s business.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated experienced Embedded Software Security Developer to design and develop security applications on STM32 microcontrollers.

You will join a team in Le Mans responsible for creating embedded applications with security functionalities using STM32 microcontroller security features. Use cases span IoT, industrial, and consumer markets, such as securely managing (installing, updating, isolating) confidential information stored inside STM32 microcontrollers.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow security standards and address vulnerabilities in security microcontrollers reported from the field.
  • Contribute to STM32 security hardware specifications to enhance robustness of security applications.
  • Develop and execute verification (FPGA) and validation (Silicon) security plans.
  • Follow the SW development process from specification to validation, developing STM32 security applications to demonstrate and promote security features to end users.
  • Support security labs in assessing and certifying STM32 security solutions against ARM PSA or SESIP standards.
  • Assist customers in using our security solutions.
  • Analyze and fix reported STM32 security software vulnerabilities.

Profile

Required skills include:

  • Embedded & Realtime Software Development experience with C/C++ and assembly languages (Debugging, Profiling).
  • Knowledge of ARM Trust-Zone Cortex-M architecture.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting.
  • Experience with development environments like IAR, Keil, or Eclipse.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred experience:

  • Defining security solutions with security level analysis (Assets/Threats/Mitigations).
  • Developing security applications on Microcontrollers with ARM Cortex-M cores (from CM0 to CM33).
  • Experience with Security PSA and/or SESIP certifications.
  • Implementing software countermeasures against SW attacks.
  • Addressing hardware physical attacks, such as fault injection or side-channel attacks.
