Senior Start-up Advisor (F/M)

Context:

The Axens Project Operations (POP) Business Division provides advanced technologies, engineering design, modular units, and technical services to clients. The Start-up department advises and supports clients during commissioning and start-up phases of new or revamped units. We are seeking a Senior Start-up Advisor to assist in the start-up of units licensed by Axens for refining and petrochemical customers, as well as new technologies.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Start-up Advisor, you will work under the guidance of a Chief Start-up Advisor and be responsible for:

  • Verifying construction compliance with Axens specifications, inspecting equipment and P&ID, supervising catalyst loading;
  • Providing technical support for a smooth and safe start-up;
  • Offering recommendations to optimize and tune unit operations;
  • Monitoring performance tests of the units;
  • Sharing site feedback with the start-up and management teams;
  • Contributing to the development of standard documents for the Start-up department.

Depending on experience, rapid promotion to Chief Start-up Advisor may be possible.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering, MSc, or equivalent, with at least seven years of professional experience in start-up/commissioning within the Oil & Gas sector;
  • Experience in gas treatments, Hydrogenation, Light Ends, Middle Distillates, FCC, Hydroprocessing, Conversion, Reforming, or Isomerization, or Naphtha/Aromatic complexes is highly valued;
  • On-site experience is highly appreciated;
  • Process design experience is a plus;
  • Fluent English is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.

Travel is required globally (approx. 150 days/year), with attractive allowances. The position is based in France or on a local contract depending on the subsidiary location.
