Skaleet, Boulogne-Billancourt, is seeking a Senior SRE to lead a VMware-to-Kubernetes migration and own critical, highly available infrastructure. You will drive IaC with Terraform and Ansible, automate operations, and mentor engineers while partnering with product squads to improve reliability.
The role emphasizes on-call leadership, incident management, and alignment with security and compliance in a banking-oriented environment. Fluent French is expected.
[SKALEET]
Skaleet builds the core banking engine behind banks and neobanks: accounts, payments, cards. Our platform runs in production for 30+ regulated financial institutions in 15 countries, including Crédit Agricole, Caisse d'Epargne and Nirio (FDJ United), and manages over 10 million accounts.
In 2026, Euromoney named Skaleet the best banking solution in Europe. Our revenue grew by 40% in 2025. We are about 100 people, based in Boulogne-Billancourt.
Our infrastructure is critical: every client runs on its own dedicated platform, which means 50+ production environments to operate, each with its own specificities.
[Job Description]
Our strategic infrastructure project: migrating our VMware/vSphere estate (~450 VMs across 5 datacenters) to Kubernetes, without interrupting the banking services that run on it.
You will join the Infrastructure team, within the Platform department, as a senior SRE and technical referent, and play a leading role in this migration.
Beyond the migration, you will own the most complex infrastructure topics across all client platforms: high-availability architectures, operations as code, and reliability practices (SLOs, observability, incident management, post-mortems) shared with the team and the development squads. You will arbitrate architecture decisions on your scope, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and reduce recurring operational load through automation rather than manual work.
Drive the migration from VMware/vSphere (~450 VMs, 5 datacenters) to Kubernetes (3 clusters, ~20 nodes).
Design and implement high-availability architectures and infrastructure extension projects.
Industrialize operations with Terraform and Ansible: provisioning, deployments, system updates, platform provisioning.
Eliminate recurring manual operations across the board.
Guarantee availability, capacity and performance of client platforms; own SLA/SLO commitments.
Define SLOs with the development teams and arbitrate reliability vs. delivery speed on that basis.
Work as a partner of the development squads, not as a ticket desk: co-build the path to production and help developers become autonomous in running their services.
Improve metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and actionable alerting, with measurable noise reduction.
Act as Incident Commander on major incidents; drive resolution, lead blameless post-mortems and remediation plans.
Serve as the final escalation point for infrastructure issues raised by support, development and project teams.
Surface recurring root causes upstream instead of firefighting case by case.
Integrate banking-sector security and compliance requirements into infrastructure choices, with the CISO.
Document architectures and runbooks; mentor junior and mid-level engineers; lead technical reviews.
Contribute to technical hiring for the team.
Scheduled interventions outside business hours for client-impacting operations (migrations, cutovers, maintenance).

Master's degree from a top-tier engineering school, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of experience as SRE, DevOps Engineer or in production infrastructure.
Strong command of Linux/Debian environments, with significant Docker and Kubernetes production experience.
Hands‑on experience with on-premise infrastructure (not only managed public cloud).
Proven infra-as-code practice with Terraform and/or Ansible, demonstrated on real projects.
On-call and production incident management experience.
Solid Python or Bash skills.
Fluent French (the team works in French).
Strong network knowledge (routing, firewalling, VPN).
VMware vSphere experience and Kubernetes migration experience.
Experience in a regulated or high-availability-critical sector (banking, payments, healthcare).
Experience working with distributed teams.
Professional English.
Pragmatic: you take ownership of production and prefer eliminating a recurring problem over working around it.
Cool-headed in a crisis: you lead major incidents and decide under pressure with incomplete information.
A clear communicator: you make reliability topics understandable to product and project stakeholders.
A mentor: you grow the team's skills rather than keeping knowledge to yourself.
Methodical: you document and get sensitive operations reviewed, you always plan a rollback, and you honor your on-call commitments.
Driven by continuous improvement: operational load is a problem to solve, not a fatality.
Hybrid work: up to 2 days of remote work per week
25 days of paid vacation and 12 additional days off (RTT) per year
