Job Description:

Absolut System has been a key player in the space industry since its foundation. Our commitment to technological excellence and innovation has positioned us at the forefront of two strategic areas in the space domain:

  • Advanced observation systems, enabling precise and reliable data acquisition for scientific, environmental, and defense applications;
  • Cryogenic propellant storage solutions, contributing to the development of next-generation launch vehicles and in-orbit servicing missions.

We actively participate in ambitious European and international space programs, collaborating with major industrial and institutional partners.

As part of our expanding activities, we are seeking a Systems Engineer who will play a central role in ensuring the technical coherence, performance, and reliability of the solutions developed. You will be the technical authority for your projects, responsible for defining and validating system-level choices in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, thermal, software, etc.).

This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in high-stakes environments and are motivated by complex engineering challenges with tangible impact on space missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage the system architecture
  • Lead the specification and allocation of system requirements across spacecraft subsystems (payloads, power, communications, thermal, etc.)
  • Oversee the functional and performance analysis of the mission, including end-to-end system modeling
  • Coordinate with customers, partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure technical consistency
  • Support the integration and validation of system interfaces and performances
  • Ensure the consistency and quality of all system and project documentation
  • Support major project design reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR), ensuring system compliance, maturity, and technical consistency at each stage
  • Participate in risk analysis, anomaly resolution, and trade-off studies throughout the system life cycle
  • Support and track the delivery and reception of equipment, ensuring alignment with system specifications and project timelines
  • Interface with ground segment teams to ensure mission operations compatibility (if any)

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in general engineering, with strong competencies in thermodynamics, mechanics, or thermal engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a development project as a design or study engineer
  • Proven experience in the space sector is essential
  • Experience working in multi-partner or European space programs (ESA, CNES, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data package structure and ESA project deliverables
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Desire to work in an agile SME on game-changing projects for the future of space
  • Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written
