Gama seeks a Senior Solar Array Engineer to own the mechanical design of core subsystems for a next‑generation ultra‑light deployable solar array, from concept through qualification to production. You will shape a growing engineering team alongside seasoned SpaceX veterans.

You will drive trades, perform structural/thermal analyses, and work hands-on with hardware for prototype assembly, deployment testing and system integration, ensuring robust, flight‑proven solutions for harsh environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in spacecraft or launch vehicle mechanical design, with solar array or deployable panels preferred.
• Hardware moved from concept to orbit or launch pad in multiple cycles.
• Expertise in lightweight structures, deployable mechanisms, and PV integration.
• CAD proficiency in CATIA or Siemens NX; ability to sanity-check with hand calculations.
• Strong analytical mindset, proactive attitude, and good interpersonal skills.
• Autonomy and ownership of a significant subsystem; mentors juniors.
• Proven track record delivering reliable systems for harsh environments.
• Fluent English; additional languages welcome.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and qualify mechanical subsystems of a lightweight deployable solar array with end-to-end ownership.
• Drive design trades and analyses (structural, thermal, mechanism kinematics) from concept through detailed design and test.
• Hands-on hardware for prototype assembly, deployment testing, system integration, and production line development.
• Build flight-proven solutions meeting mass and volume targets in harsh launch/orbital environments.
• Define and execute integration, verification and validation strategies for subsystems.
• Mentor junior mechanical engineers and serve as a technical reference for solar array design.
