Qualifications

Position

We are looking for a new Senior Software Developer to join our engineering team.

Team Structure

The team is dispatched into 4 squads.

You will play a major role on the overseas squad in charge of implementing all the tracking mechanism for air and sea shipments, the core of our product.

To do so, you will participate in the discovery with the product manager, contribute heavily to the delivery, and help your squad reaching its objectives.

You will also take part in the cross team events (Wakeo Days, Dev Days, Prez Days) and contribute to the vibrant life of the Tech team.

You will be supported in your journey at Wakeo by your Engineering Manager that will help you keep growing as a Software Engineer.

Objectives

Short term (4 months):

1. You have a good understanding of the product.
2. You have a good understanding of our architecture and infrastructure.
3. You understand and follow the process at Wakeo for product and engineers from discovery to increment release.
4. You bond with your squad.
5. You release new increments, reaching sprint goals successfully.

Long Term:

1. You have a strong understanding of the product.
2. You contribute to architecture and infrastructure decisions.
3. You undertake large and challenging code refactoring.
4. You are able to challenge product requests and technical choices made by the team.
5. You take part in technical discovery for new features.
6. You take part in R&D for bringing innovative solutions to Wakeo.

Ideal Profile

You have graduated from an Engineering School and have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Software Engineering.

Experience in an international B-to-B SaaS is a plus.

You speak French and English.

You are familiar with the Scrum agile methodology.

You have an engineering mindset and strong knowledge in development.

You master the Ruby on Rails framework and have knowledge of other languages/frameworks such as React, TypeScript, NestJS, and Python.

You help reference and absorb technical debt, perform R&D during your dev days and prez days.

You have good communication skills by being structured and persuasive and able to make decisions and argue them.

You have good management of ambiguous and complex projects.
