Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Set strategic direction and drive successful delivery of high-impact products built on Pngme’s data infrastructure, managing high volume data processing and architectural changes without downtime.
• Technical Expertise: Apply experience in backend systems, web apps, data analysis, cloud infrastructure, Android SDK, and cybersecurity to develop software.
• Effective Communication: Articulate technical concepts and align cross-functional teams.
• Management and Collaboration: Translate product objectives into engineering requirements, foster team growth and cohesion.
• Innovation Through Data: Collaborate with product teams to create data-centric products, leveraging data science methodologies.
• Optimize for Impact: Focus on high-impact tasks such as coding, unblock team members, and customer integrations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Proven leadership in engineering teams and big data projects.
• Significant contributions to complex systems.
• Understanding of software architecture, object-oriented and functional programming.
• Advanced Python skills and experience with data science tools (Pandas, XGBoost, Matplotlib).
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure and scaling data systems.
• Knowledge of identity management and access controls.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Availability during 5+ hours overlap with West and East Africa Time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with machine learning models, feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning.
• DevOps skills, CI/CD automation, code quality practices.
• Full stack web development with React and Python/AWS APIs.
• Android SDK development experience.
• Background in fintech, banking, or B2B SaaS preferred.
